I am a professional musician, who has been running a tutoring service since 2008. I taught math a music and arts public high school in Brooklyn, and I have tutored in several after-school programs throughout the city. For those interested in piano lessons, I have been playing professionally for over 10 years, and I have experience teaching many levels of students in many genres.
My customers appreciate my patience and my enthusiasm. I love the subjects I teach, and I try to make that love and thirst for knowledge contagious.
I love it when my students reach those moments of understanding when they finally break through to something that was giving them difficulty (the same with music as with math). I believe it is the goal of every teacher to empower their students to the point where they don't need a teacher.
It's hard to say what stands out from the rest. I suppose lessons that don't go as well as I would like stick out more in my mind than others. These are the times that allow me to be critical of my approach and hopefully learn something for future lessons.
